On June 7, 2008, Gary Heatwole, the Tennis Pro, hosted a tennis party-picnic and  round robin at the Tennis Center to celebrate the  member's victory in convincing the Ormond Beach City Council to keep the Tennis Center open (due to financial problems the City was considering closing the center). They awarded Gary a three-year contract to operate the Tennis Center as a private contractor with minimal control and financial support from the City.

These pictures are from the victory celebration.  Gary grilled hot dogs. Members brought food, and  over 40 people participated in the Round Robin.  There was plenty of good food and everyone enjoyed the music provided by Sal - see his picture below.
